What's the Bravo for Oceans initiative all about?
BravoCoupon has always been mindful of making the world a greener place. We've made our best efforts in our own contribution to make our planet cleaner. In our previous initiative, we launched the Green Friday event, reaching our goal of planting a tree for every purchase made on our platforms: we've planted more than 600,000 trees in many parts of the globe. Since then we've decided to continue contributing to other projects.
We'd like to promote an eco-sustainable way of shopping online, while supporting environmental conservation. We're grateful that the startup Ogyre agreed to collaborate with us and join us in 2022 for a brand new project: Bravo for Oceans. Our mission is to focus on the protection and conservation of the marine ecosystem. In just 4 years, we have collected 4700kg of marine waste, and this year we plan to add another 2500kg for a total of 7200 kg of waste.
Ogyre is active in Brazil, Indonesia, and Italy with dual objectives: to combat marine pollution by removing the waste in our oceans and also to provide an economic income for local fishermen who are responsible for the removal of the debris. This is how Ogyre will work to protect our oceans and the communities that are suffering from the consequences of pollution.
How does it work and how can you make your contribution?
For 2026 we've chosen to continue with an international partner to help our incredibly ambitious project. We'll need as much help as possible and yours is very important to us! We've agreed with Ogyre to provide funds for the removal of at least 2,500 kg of waste (plastic and other contaminating materials) from the Indonesian, Brazilian, and Italian oceans. This marine waste will be removed from April to December by local fishers.
Just to give you a clearer picture of our mission, 2,500 kg of plastic waste is the equivalent of 250,000 plastic bottles! How can you help support Bravo for Oceans?
